To the editor:

I found the May/June 2008 issue of Nursing Outlook both timely and interesting. However, I was struck by the fact that, while the full issue was devoted to the development of interdisciplinary research and the movement toward transdisciplinary research, all of the authors were nurses with two exceptions, one of whom was actually the manager of the research center and not one of the interdisciplinary collaborators. It might have been valuable to have included some of the colleagues from other disciplines that were and are involved with these various projects to model what we are trying ultimately to achieve.
