The intersection of nursing and health services research: An agenda to guide future research

      Nursing is essential in the delivery of health care, influencing patient systems, and societal outcomes.

      However, access to and utilization of nursing and health care services, health and health disparities, patient safety concerns, escalating costs of care, and inefficiencies in the organization and delivery of care remain problems. Nursing-health services research (N-HSR), which uses a multidisciplinary approach, provides a means to address these problems and their effects on the health and well-being of individuals, families, organizations, institutions, communities, and populations.
