American Academy of Nursing announced engagement in National Choosing Wisely® Campaign

        The American Academy of Nursing at a press conference October 16, 2014, in Washington, D.C. during its Transforming Health, Driving Policy national conference released a list of common health care practices that are not always necessary or in the best interests of patient health. The list's release occurred in conjunction with the Academy's participation in the Choosing Wisely® campaign, an initiative of the ABIM Foundation intended to spur conversations between health care professionals and patients about what care is genuinely necessary.
